As you can tell from our name, we at Carolina Turf and Mosquito specialize in lawn and turf care. A significant portion of our job involves addressing turf problems, helping the grass to recover and ultimately make your lawn lush and green once more. To help you keep your turf looking its best, in this article, we’ll go over some common turf problems to watch out for–if you spot any of these things on your lawn, we encourage you to call our team as soon as possible.
- Bare Spots- One of the more obvious turf problems comes in the form of bare spots or balding patches, areas where the grass has become thin. These spots can occur for a number of different reasons, from heavy foot traffic to various diseases. If you notice areas where your lawn is getting bare, call our team to get the problem checked out.
- Rusts- Another one of the most common turf problems our team helps with is known as rusts, or fungal diseases that affect plants. If you see areas of grass that have turned a reddish-brown or yellow-orange in color, or that have developed a powdery residue on the blades, you probably have a rust on your hands and should give us a call.
- Uneven Growth- Lastly, our team can help with turf problems such as uneven growth. The ideal lawn is a smooth, even carpet of perfectly green grass, but actual lawns often develop unevenly in patches. Things like the slope of the ground or the amount of shade can prevent the grass from growing well, but our team knows how to correct these issues and help your grass grow thick all over your property.
