Mosquitos are a pain– sometimes literally. Even though most mosquitos usually leave us with a lot of itchy, red bumps and frustration, there are some diseases that mosquitos are capable of spreading. If you absolutely hate that buzzing sound, mosquito bites, or know that they find you absolutely delectable, here are some creative ways that you can try to kill mosquitos this upcoming summer and outdoor season!
First, get yourself a box fan. A box fan is a large, narrow fan that is open on both ends, usually used in more industrial settings. If you cover one side (the air-intake side) of the box fan with very small screen mesh, it will suck the mosquitos to the screen and make it difficult, if not impossible, to fly off. You can then just spray the fan with a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water to kill them.
The next thing you can try is to treat any standing water around your property, and by “any standing water” we really mean any standing water! Water that is in your garbage can after a rainy day, left in your gutters, flooded parts of your yard, flowerpot overflows, any of these areas can be breeding grounds for mosquito larvae. By getting rid of all potential standing water, you can kill mosquitos before they become of age.
Finally, don’t hesitate to call in professionals to create mosquito barriers. When you have professionals like ours at Carolina Turf and Mosquito, you can get kid and pet-safe mosquito treatments that really work to kill mosquitos.
